The Kitchen

The large kitchen features Art Deco windows and light fixtures. It has a fifteen foot counter with two sinks,  so food preparation for large groups is not a problem.

There is a sitting area on the west side that opens out onto a wrap-around terrace. The breakfast table is on the terrace. It can be either under the roof extension or in the sun.

A second kitchen on the lake level allows for separate cooking areas during Covid.

Prince Edward County is a wine district, and the kitchen is designed with that in mind. Food-loving people can tour the wineries, find a great choice of wine, and then return to the Gryphon to either cook a fine dinner or bring back a catered dinner. Then, you can enjoy your food and wine on the verandah.

Take-out food is available at Emms Eatery, about half a kilometer west and up the road. Their food is good solid country fare.
